I distinctly remember the anticipation I felt at the beginning of every school year for the annual trip to Clarks for a new pair of shiny black shoes. How much would my feet have grown, will I have buckles or lace-ups, brogued or plain?? Remember the shoe fitting contraption measuring exactly how long and wide your feet are, like a perfect mathematical formula for the perfect fit? (Why did they ever stop using those?!)
It was a sad day when I moved into senior school and graduated from Clarks to Doc Martins. But a girl has to move on and my fashioned heart can be fickle.
I never would thought that Clarks would back on my fashion radar today. But I can't resist the vintage inspired styles of the Clarks Originals range. The Ethel Flare is a fave, wear with leggings and a jumper dress or a pair of 7/8th jeans and some chunky socks. these could easily be mistaken for the See by Chloe Desert boot (seen above in beige) but at a 1/3 of the price. It is worth the priceless look on your friends face when they ask where you got your shoes and you say nonchalantly, 'Clarks'.
And the gents should check out the Desert Boots from the same range for some easy weekend styling.

Do you have any idea where I can get the ethel flare boots in the US? I'm obsessed
